Create a road trip folderfor each car • Include all directions and maps • Have a contact sheet of all travelers • Envelopes to collect: • Receipts for reimbursement (ie: gas, parking, etc.) • Prepaid cash notes are NOT valid for reimbursements • Get actual receipts • Money from all the passengers
Is your car ready to go? • Tires • Tread, cracks, bulges, tears, and psi level • Spare tire and jack • Oil • Do you have enough? • Color? • How close are you to your next check-up? • Fluids • Coolant, antifreeze, transmission, brake, and wiper • Battery • Check for corrosion • Jumper cables • Do you know how to use them? • Checklist!
Is your car adequately equipped? • Maps • Navigation system • Make sure to bring charger • Print or buy maps • If anybody has AAA,they can get free maps • AAA or other assistance plan • Check with car insuranceprovider

But what happens if you get pulled over… • It happens, and it is going to be okay :) • Make sure all your passengers are aware and calm • Have your proof of car insurance, registration papers, and drivers license readily available • Make sure you know where everything is before you embark on your journey • Note: Circle K does not cover the charges – if it is your fault, you are responsible for the charges
Packing • Bring a spare car key • Roadside Emergency Kit • Flashlight, blanket, extra batteries, basic first aid kit, nonperishable food, and water • Packing List • Don’t bring too much cash; instead stop at ATMs. • Keep in mind, EVERYBODY’s stuff must fit in the car. • Packing list!

Road Trip Buddies • This is a great chance for you to get closer to new and old members! • Pair up with someone you know, and then choose another pair that you don’t know as well • What happens if you don’t get along with someone? • Talk to an officer • Switch to a different car • “Sleep” • Put your feelings aside…FOR THE GREATER GOOD!

Recording your trip • Journal or blog • Take lots of pictures • Make it interesting – Do something at each stop • GeoCaching • Pick flowers • Same picture at city signs
Ambiance • Music or audio books • Caravanning…It’s more fun with multiple cars! • Fun ways to communicate – Walkie-talkies, whiteboards, etc. • Properly using your windshield wipers ;) • Practice your cheers! • Watch a movie on your laptop • Don’t forget an inverter! • Talk • Share stories, ask questions…get to know the people you are traveling with! • Games booklet
