What is TCAP? T = Transitional C = Colorado A = Assessment P = Program
Show What You Know! • TCAP evaluates: • What a student knows and needs to learn • What groups of students know and need to learn • If schools are teaching what students should learn and how well they are teaching it.
What is on the test? • Reading • Writing • Math Colorado Measures of Academic Success • Social Studies- 4th grade • Science- 5th grade
Why is TCAP so important? • Accountability • Reports on what and how well a school teaches by testing what the students have learned. • Results • Student: individual progress, identify areas needing more attention, and to compare against other tests, homework, and class work. • Schools and districts: reports on how the school is performing compared to other schools in the district
