  5. chapter 16 • Helmholtz, Bernard, and John wait nervously in Mond’s office • John Savage questioned on his view of “civilization” • Mond’s recognition of Shakespeare “sometimes a thousand twangling instruments will hum about my ears, and sometimes voices” From The Tempest, Act III Scene ii Caliban to Stephano   “Be not afeard.
