  2. Definition PA 198/451 • Physical impairment means severe orthopedic impairment that adversely affects educational performance. • MET shall include 1 of the following: Orthopedic surgeon Internist Neurologist Pediatrician Family physician or any approved physician

  3. Definition PA 198/451 • Other Health Impairment means having limited strength, vitality, or alertness.

  4. Chronic Develops slowly and results in long lasting symptoms. Example/Diabetes Acute Develops quickly and symptoms are intense and often end quickly Example/Pneumonia Other Health Impairments Limited strength, vitality or alertness due to chronic or acute health problems

  5. Definition PA 198/451 • Adversely affects educational performance • MET shall include 1 of the following: Orthopedic surgeon Internist Neurologist Pediatrician Family physician or any approved physician

  6. Unique Educational Needs • Reduced mobility, strength, stamina or dexterity • Self-concept problems • Difficulty maintaining academic achievement • Extraordinary medical and other health related needs • Increased isolation I’ll tell you about these.
