Does Carrying Heavy Things Stunt Your Growth? Is this true or false and what is behind it?
Information -Heavy is above 15% of a average Childs weight -Your Physical growth is largely connected to your bones -Lifting something with bad form or if it is too heavy is bad for you -Gaining muscle mass will not effect your bone development as long as it is a sizable amount for your frame
Answer NO-Carrying heavy things will not stunt your growth as long as it is not overly heavy This is because if done in correct form the force will not damage your growth plates or (epiphyseal plate) which is a piece of cartilage between long bones. Damaging your epiphyseal plates can stunt growth
