Mandate of Heaven in exchange for the people’s obedience, the ruler must be moral, a good administrator, and provide his people with peace, order, and prosperity his dynasty would lose its mandate if the ruler did not do this war, floods, revolts, and famine were all signs that the ruler had lost his Mandate if this was the case, then the people had a right to rebel helps to explain the Chinese Dynastic Cycle, which is how we measure Chinese history
