Other information • We know that : • Children and senior citizens are less immune to it • Is closely related to HUS • HUS: • Often occurs in a body after E. coli • Is caused by kidney failure • Is common in children • Symptoms are: paleness, tired, irritable, unexpected bruises, and blood from nose or mouth
Causes of e. coli • E. Coli can be received from: • Animals at petting zoos or barns • Bad food, such as raw meat and unwashed fruits/vegetables • Other people that are already infected
How to prevent E.coli • You prevent E.coli by: • washing your hands often (especially after contact with animals, and before and after eating) • You can kill E. coli pathogens with heat
