  8. Alternate Plans Parameters • Must meet the resource protection goals and address the 5 riparian functions required by the forest practices rules • 3-5 year forest practices application • Plan expires with application

  10. Alternate Plans Process • Landowner meets with SFLO forester • Landowner drafts Plan • Pre site visit • Landowner submits Plan/FPA • I.D. Team meeting • Approval/Disapproval • Conditions may apply • Approved within 30-45 days

  15. Hardwood Conversion Temperature Modeling Project • Purpose: collect information for Template for Hardwood Conversions • Dept. of Ecology proposed using existing data vs. CMER hardwood study

Assumptions Harvest on one side of stream Existing data 30’ no harvest buffer Sensitive stream Variable lengths: 500’-1500’ Questions 1) Effects of variable length harvests on temp. sensitive streams 2) If the temp. is affected how much shade is required downstream for the temp. to recover? Model exercise
