    2. Contextualized Leadership Development for School Principals Key Premises: To improve education in this region—to develop capacity and sustainability for great school leaders—the Pacific needs to re-think what it means to be an effective principal in Pacific island schools.

    3. Contextualized Leadership Development for School Principals Key Premises: Contextualized leadership has the opportunity to foster high academic achievement of every child by attracting, preparing, supporting, sustaining the next generation of outstanding leaders for Pacific schools.

    4. Contextualized Leadership Development for School Principals Key Premises: Global research-based practices can be contextualized to assist schools and entities in rethinking leadership functions, roles, and practices, and come up with effective leadership focusing on teaching and learning, especially as they are contextualized in the Pacific school learning contexts and realities.

    5. Contextualized Leadership Development for School Principals Key Premises: Global research-based best practices can be contextualized, integrated, and sustained in the Pacific school systems so that: Learning is meaningful and relevant; Instruction includes values, attitudes, ways of learning in an island setting; Understanding of context where learning takes place contributes to teaching and learning.
