Monterey Bay… …Is located right off the coast of California. The sanctuary was established in 1977. A marine sanctuary is almost like a national forest, but instead of being on land, it is in the water. Monterey Bay is known as the Kelp Forest or Temperate Ocean.

People’s Affects Lots of people are causing the population of fish to die down, mainly because of people fishing in Monterey Bay. Lots of people are also harvesting kelp. They are collecting the kelp because there is an ingredient called align. Align makes foods soft and creamy. Align is found in pudding, salad dressing, gravy, etc.
