Training Requirements • Everyone (youth & adults) must do Youth Protection Training, Safe Swim Defense, and Safety Afloat. • Adults must have CPR and First Aid training as well. (These are not online courses.) • Some adults will require Weather Hazards, Trek Safely, and Climb on Safely.
Youth Protection Training must have been done after July 24, 2012. If it is older (even if within 2 years & valid), you’ll have to update. • Please do the Boy Scout or Venture YPT, as appropriate. • Training to be done online and certificates emailed to Sonia Bromley at sonia.bromley@telenet.be • Deadline is May 15
https://myscouting.scouting.org • Create an account (or sign in if you already have one). • Have your BSA membership number ready. If you don’t know it, you can still create an account. • Council name is Transatlantic Council • Once the account is created, you will receive an email to activate it. • Activate, create your password and log in.
Once you are logged in, click on E-Learning, in the gray menu box along the left of the screen. • Scroll down and choose the appropriate tab: Boy Scout or Venturing. • Choose the course you need, click on Take Course and work your way through the video. • At the end of the course, print the certificate, scan and email to Sonia. Or, attach to email as an HTML file.
Remember, everyone must complete 3 courses online: • Youth Protection Training • Safe Swim Defense • Safety Afloat • Certain adult leaders must also complete: • Weather Hazards • Trek Safely • Climb on Safely • All adult leaders must complete CPR and First Aid training as well. Check for a Red Cross course near you.
