  1. GEO AIP-2 Kickoff Workflow

  2. Service Orchestration - Sensor Access Services • Example workflows: • Multi-mission programming • Fine dust forecast maps • Flood monitoring • Other examples: OWS-3, OWS-4 (SPS & WCTS) • Supported Specifications: • EO Profile for SPS (OGC 07-018) • Sensor Observation Service

  3. Multi-mission Programming • Supports Multi-Mission programming request definition: • Help the user to identify suitable missions associated to his/her need on the basis of : • Mission technical capabilities; • Capacity to perform acquisition combining several missions (patchwork solution). • Help user to perform the order submission and to follow-up his/her order.

  4. COMU – Multi-mission Programming • Based on EO Profile for Sensor Planning Service

  5. Submit Workflow (BPEL)

  6. Fine dust (PM10) forecast maps • Forecasts of fine dust (PM10) concentrations by neural network. • Currently based on in-situ measurements at ±50 locations. • Current maps are created by simple spatial interpolation (inverse distance weighting). • Spatial coverage to be improved by incorporation of Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) maps. • Fusion of PM10 and AOD by VITO’s RIO interpolation model.

  9. Flood Monitoring and SAR tasking • Need for geographical data before, during and after flood events. • Radar imagery best suited but tasking is a lengthy process. • Reduce time to acquire SAR imagery by triggering Tasking Feasibility Request based on in-situ water-level measurements or river basin model outcome. • Alert from in-situ network will initiate a chain of events. • In situ data: • Water level gauges on Ijzer bassin • Morecombe Bay (UK) Flood alerts • EO sensors: • GetFeasibility for ESA sensors
