  3. Classifications • It can be divided into two = Statutory welfare provisions = Non-Statutory welfare provisions

  4. Statutory welfare provisions • The welfare provisions are : as permitted by the law • The welfare measures by the government is known as the statutory welfare provisions. • Developed by the government to improve their morale and work commitment.

Welfare measures by the govt • Factories act 1948 • Apprentices act 1961 • Contract labour (R&A)act 1970 • Plantations labour act 1951 • The Employees state Insurance Act, 1948 • The Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 • The Mines Act, 1952 • The Plantation Labor Act, 1951 • The Beedi and Cigar Workers (Conditions of Employment) Act, 1966
