What is NCPA? • The National Community Pharmacists Association represents the pharmacy owners, managers, and employees of more than 23,000 independent community pharmacies across the United States. • They are committed to high-quality pharmacist care and to restoring, maintaining, and promoting the health and well-being of the public pharmacists serve • They believe in the inherent virtues of the American free enterprise system and will do all they can to ensure the ability of independent community pharmacists to compete in a free and fair marketplace.

Autonomy • Practice how you want to practice! • Compounding? Subspecialty? Long-term care? • All these services are a staple to independent pharmacy and allow you to best serve your patient population. • Clinical mindset? • Collaborative Practice Agreements and Provider Status will provide new avenues of practice and opportunities for creative business ideas!
Scholarships • Five scholarships exclusive to NCPA members • Each scholarship is valued at $2000 or more • Also receive a stipend to accept award at the National Convention • Cardinal scholarship (not affiliated with NCPA) • Scholarship is given to student/s that show high interest in pharmacy ownership • Pays for the entire year of tuition P4 year • Past two years NCPA members have been awarded • 2013 – ClareeNyguen • 2014 – Ryan Smith and Chase Arms
Why Join? • Cheap Dues • NCPA maintains some of the cheapest membership dues on campus • $35/national and $10/local ($45 total) • Service projects, educational workshops, and networking! • Meeting owners at service projects and conferences is a great way to get your name out to potential employers! • P1 Position • Treasurer for 2014-2015 year • Election will be at the first general meeting on September 4th.
