EALTSEnglish for Aviation Language Testing System CAAi ENGLISH FOR AVIATION LANGUAGE TEST (EALT) A test of plain English in the context of aviation Allowing candidates to demonstrate extent of ability to: • communicate effectively in voice-only and face-to-face situations; • communicate with accuracy and clarity on common, concrete and work-related topics; • use appropriate communicative strategies to exchange messages and to recognise and resolve misunderstandings (e.g. to check, confirm, or clarify information) in a general or work-related context; • handle successfully and with relative ease the linguistic challenges presented by an aviation-related complication or unexpected turn of events; • use a dialect or accent which is intelligible to the aeronautical community.
