Where I would place studio cameras Furniture cameras Furniture The reasons for these position of the cameras is simply to be able to capture every emotion and interesting thing to happen in the interview. The one behind the furniture is to get an interesting pan shot, maybe one that starts of the interview. Ones at the far left and right hand side, will be slightly zoomed in, ready to switch to a persons face when they are talking and then to be switched to the opposite side when the other talks. The third in from the left on the bottom row of cameras, is meant for a main shot, when the interview starts to capture the two shot, and when the interview is coming to an end, maybe slightly panning out for the ‘smooth’ effect capturing the full shot. I believe these would be the best spots and right amount of cameras to have for a studio production, such as with The Jonathon Ross Show, it has all cameras able to see the furniture and people on them, and captures all the detail needed for an effective production.

Why I would place these cameras in their positions Ground Level, Head of the Pool Camera’s- I would have these cameras in the set positions they are in because it is a nice shot as it captures the real emotion of the swimmers in the picture and singles them out nicely, individually. Ground level, top left corner of pool camera- This camera is positioned in this place because it captures the real emotion and enthusiasm of the crowd, and fits a large amount into the shot. Ground level, middle left to the pool camera- This camera is positioned in this spot because it gets a nice side on shot of the swimmers coming past to have a clear view of who is winning and what positions in the race swimmers are in. Ground level, bottom left to the pool camera- This camera is In this spot because it clearly shows the contenders coming out of the dugout showing their emotion before the event. Ground level, bottom right to the pool camera- This camera is positioned in this spot because it shows the contenders turning around at the wall and gives the viewers an idea of who is winning the event and the position of each contender.
Why I would place these cameras in their positions Birds eye camera of pool- This is a popular camera shot to use for events like this as it can identify easily the positioning of the competitors, and it is always a nice camera shot to have with it being a nice view. Ground level, middle right of the pool camera- This camera also shows the contenders of the event from the side so viewers can clearly see what positions each competitor is in.
Coverage of Action Coverage of action are the camera techniques used to film live coverage of an event. An example of this would be in football, how the camera always stay on the ball whilst it is in play so the audience can always see and understand what is happening, but as it goes out of play, it switches. When a team score a goal, it switches to the players celebrating, then maybe the manager, and crowd. It does this to show the reactions, emotion and meaning in the shot which is what the viewers at home want to see.
Communicating meaning to the viewer Communicating meaning to the viewer is when it shows shots of peoples emotions and reaction that relate to the event that has happened. It manipulates the viewers similar to the Soviet Montage technique. An event happens then the camera cuts to something which gives people an idea of how they are feeling. The soviet montage technique of almost telling a story, for example it would show a football player being sent off, then showing the managers reaction then the player walking off the pitch so It shows the audience how they should feel.
Visual Style Visual Style means the way of which the cameras perform, for example all football matches filmed have the same type of style how they always get a high up shot to be able to see the whole football pitch so the viewers know what is happening. Although for a concert, it would be more close ups and intriguing shots to look at. Also golf has its own style how they put a filter over the camera to enhance the course and make everything look brighter, especially the water making it look more blue than it really is.
Maintaining Viewer Interest Multitude of camera angles and different shots relating to the event, to keep people interested. If camera angles are not changed every so often, people will lose focus and get bored, so it is best to be focused with the camera shots, changing to relevant and smooth, nice shots, such as pan shots. This makes the viewing, nicer for the viewer to watch on television as it looks more professional.
Constraints of studio or location environment • Studio • If there were to be a difficult situation for example, a studio not having decent lighting so the production doesn’t look as professional would cause a large problem for technical producers. • Ambient lighting would also be a big problem as it may cause glares and general unneeded lighting to ruin a nice shot. • Location Environment • Ambient lighting is possibly a constraint for productions, as lighting levels are generally unreliable when outdoors therefore cant be relied upon, too bright may cause glares or general unfitting film, and gloominess may cause the shot to be too dark. Also whether, if it rains or is the wrong condition to film in, the scenes/shots cant take place. • Noise is a massive constraint for production when filming in a location environment. You can never be sure if there will be noise that can ruin shots, and make them unable to film.
Multi-Camera Simultaneous Recording Multi-camera simultaneous recording is when you set cameras up, usually for a live production, and switch between cameras for the appropriate shot. This is controlled by a vision mixer, who has the power to switch between cameras deciding the best shots that suit what is being filmed, and connect. Overall if done smoothly, this is a very good and professional technique of making productions.
