  1. Prayer theme: 200 Years W/C 9th September 2019

  2. Monday 9th September 2019 An interesting fact about the number 200! Each dandelion flower head produces 200 seeds. And each seed can fly up to 100km!

  3. A story about dandelions There was a man who wanted to tidy up the lawn when he moved to a new house. He treated the lawn for weeds, got rid of the moss, fed the lawn and re-seeded areas that were worn. After a year of hard work he had still failed to get rod of a persistent growth of dandelions that emerged even stronger after every treatment. He read books and took advice from the university who gave him specific instructions. When these instructions failed he wrote back to the university to ask what he should do next. The university replied by return email: learn to love the dandelions. Monday 2nd SeptemberPrayer

  4. Monday 9th September 2019 Loving God, Help us to recognise our own place in creation and the special gifts we have to offer all people, Help us to recognise this in others too, Help us to love everyone, even those that are like dandelions to us Help us to learn to love ourselves And to love the dandelions!. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our teacher and companion. AMEN

  5. Monday 9th September Celebration of the birth of Mary Loving God, We give thanks for Mary, the Mother of Jesus, for her generosity throughout her life, for her care, for her example of love. May she be a model to us as we try and love you and all our neighbours more perfectly. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  6. Tuesday 10th September 2019 200 Years ago…. 16 August 1819 Eleven died at the Peterloo massacre in Manchester A huge crowd of people gathered at St Peter's Fields, Manchester, to hear radical orators speak on the subject of parliamentary reform and high food prices. The local yeomanry were ordered to arrest the speakers, but panicked and charged the crowd. Eleven people died and hundreds were injured. The massacre became known as 'Peterloo' - an ironic inversion of the British military triumph at Waterloo. Fromwww.bbc.co.uk/history/british/timeline

  7. 200 years on from the Peterloo Massacre, we still read about injustices in the news. When people gather to protest or listen but are killed or arrested because of their beliefs or opinions. In France, Marie Madeleine was close to founding the FCJ Society, she herself had experienced injustice and saw the effects of war and poverty. Dignity and Justice are values reflected in the life of Marie Madeleine and that are part of our schools. We pray today for all those working for justice around the world.

  8. Morning prayer for Justice Grant us, Lord God, a vision of your world as your love would have it: a world where the weak are protected, and none go hungry or poor; a world where the riches of creation are shared, and everyone can enjoy them; a world where different races and cultures live in harmony and mutual respect; a world where peace is built with justice, and justice is guided by love. Give us the inspiration and courage to build it, through Jesus Christ our Lord. - Author Unknown

  9. Afternoon prayer for Justice God, you have given all peoples on common origin. It is your will that they be gathered togetheras one family in yourself.Fill the hearts of humankind with the fire of your love and with the desire to ensure justice for all.By sharing the good things you give us,may we secure an equality for all our brothers and sisters throughout the world.May there be an end to division, strife, and war.May there be a dawning of a truly human societybuilt on love and peace. We ask this in your name. Amen.
