  13. NanoLab Membership • When you are ready to activate your NanoLab account: • Bring a fully completed New Member Form and proof of EH&S 101 completion to the Reception Desk in 520 Sutardja Dai Hall. • Your account information will be entered in the Mercury database and a pending status account will be requested. • You will then receive an e-mail notification (usually within 24 hours of submitting your form) that you may take the on-line safety test. • The online test is administered daily from 8 AM – 11 AM and 1 PM – 4PM in the NanoLab Office (520 Sutardja Dai Hall). • If/when you pass the test, you will be automatically qualified to access the NanoLab, and a request to enable card key access will be submitted to the Sutardja Dai Hall Building Manager. • If you do not pass, you will be notified that you must review orientation materials and retake the test.

  14. NanoLab Member Photo • When you receive an e-mail stating that you have passed the safety exam, • please go to the reception desk in 520 Sutardja Dai Hall to have your photo taken. • This is for an internal photo gallery in our Mercury system • Accessible to lab members and staff only • Photos are to improve communication among researchers and enable ready identification of your colleagues

  15. Obtaining Supplies • On your first day at the lab, a plastic box for storage of lab wear, name-badges, and materials will be issued by NanoLab staff. • Common supplies and materials (wafers, beakers, tweezers, etc.) are available in the NanoLab office and stockroom. • The item(s) must be checked out and are charged to your account. • If you need special materials or chemicals that are not kept in stock, a variety of catalogs are available in the office from which you can order the item(s) you require. • NanoLab office staff often can provide you with catalogs and vendor contact information, but such orders must be processed through your own department and not the NanoLab. Supplies purchased in the NanoLab storeroom are intended for NanoLab use only. • BNLA: Please do not “drop ship” orders to NanoLab. May get delayed/diverted • Office hours are (Monday – Friday) 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 - 5:00 PM.

To ensure proper billing of your lab/equipment use, please review your lab history regularly

  21. Review of Laboratory Charges • If an adjustment is needed (such as equipment or lab time credits): • Report like an equipment problem in Mercury (equip name: “accounting”) • Symptom: “maintenance” • For the adjustment to take place in the current billing period, report the “problem” before the 25th of the month.
