  1. 1st Amendment Group Project • Objective: Students will create a poster which analyzes Supreme Court Decisions related to the First Amendment • Establishment Clause (prayer in the classroom) • Freedom of Speech (Symbolic Speech)

Instructions • Pick a group (2 to 4 people) • Choose 2 Supreme Court Decisions • Establishment Clause (prayer in the classroom) • Freedom of speech (symbolic speech) • Research each case and answer the questions from the next slide • Summarize your findings and create a poster that displays your information so the readers can understand the importance and impact of each case • Present the poster to the class.

  4. Mandatory questions • Facts of the Case, what, where, how, who, why, etc. • Constitutional Question • Outcome or decision of the court (most important part) a. Were there any rules or guidelines that came out of the case • Personal reflection on the decision a. Personal thoughts b. Your own opinion etc. • Minimum 4 pictures, illustrations, etc • Some color must be on the poster, a colored poster does not count
