Vocabulary Characterization

This learning activity focuses on students analyzing character traits in a novel by examining specific diction used by Steinbeck. By looking at characters' thoughts, actions, and speech patterns, students will understand how word choice emphasizes personalities. The activity includes a character chart for collecting evidence of why Steinbeck uses certain words to describe characters.
