Using the CPS Over The World Wide WebStarting Internet Explorer Logon • Open your browser. • Access the Certification Pathway System Web Page by entering the following URL on the Internet Explorer Address line. NOTE: You can access the Certification Pathway System from any point on the Internet, from school, home or any wireless hot spot. The Certification Pathway System (CPS) will track your progress using the Internet no matter where your are. Your First Logon OnlyPassword Change First Logon Only • If this is the first time you logged on you will see the screen at right. • Follow the steps shown • If this IS NOT your first logon please skip all the pages with the RED border on the left. Type a new Password Step 1 Type your new Passworda second time to verify it Your password must be 6 characters long. Alphabetic and numeric characters are allowed.   9. Student Home Page • After a successful login, you are brought to the Certification Pathway System Home page • Click on My Pathway to see the courses you are enrolled in Your First name Click My Pathway to see your courses Student Home Page Benchmark/Mentor Student Guide

Initial Course Enrollment Course Enrollment Click Course Catalog or Catalog to enroll in the Benchmark or Mentor. • The first time you logon and click on “My Pathway” you will see the screen at right. • You must enroll in the Benchmark or Mentor*. • Click on “Course Catalog” to go to the Catalog containing the Benchmark and Mentor to enroll. * NOTE: Some students will be pre-enrolled in the Benchmark and/or Mentor by their teacher or class administrator. Course Catalog Screen Course Enrollment • The Catalog screen shows the various courses you can enroll in. • To enroll in a Benchmark course, click on Internet and Computing Benchmark. • To enroll in a Mentor course, click on Internet and Computing Mentor. Click Internet and Computing Benchmark or Internet and Computing Mentor to add that Module to your Pathway. Benchmark/Mentor Student Guide

Course Catalog Screen # 2 Course Enrollment • This is the Benchmark Catalog screen - there are 3 different IC3 modules available to enroll in. • To enroll in a Benchmark course, click Enroll beside the module you would like to add to your pathway. Click Enroll on an available course to add that Module to your Pathway. Benchmark/Mentor Student Guide

  13. Initial Course Launch Page Course Enrollment • When you first enroll in a course, it is immediately launched. • You can return to the My Pathway - Catalog screen to enroll in further courses. The course you chose is automatically launched. You may use it immediately or go back to the Catalog and enroll in further courses. Benchmark/Mentor Student Guide

  14. Student’s IC3My Pathway Page Course Enrollment • Click on Enter below the course you want to use. • To enroll in further courses, repeat the enrollment process by clicking Catalog again. Definition of the Sections of the IC3 Syllabus Definition of the Sections of the IC3 Syllabus • The IC3 specification defines the sections of the syllabus and the topics covered in a four level structure: • Modules, • Domains within Modules, • Objectives within Domains, • Topics/Skill-sets within Objectives. • For each Skill-set in the IC3 Syllabus, there is a corresponding question in the Benchmark and Mentor Assessment. • There are a total of 221 questions in the syllabus; 61 in Computing Fundamentals, 87 in Key Applications and 73 in Living Online. Student’s IC3Module Menu Page Module Menu Page This is the Module Name • This is the Module level of the Key Applications Mentor. • There are 4 Domains available in this Module. • Click on the title of the Domain you want to enter. Click on the Domain Title (orange text)to enter the Domain you want to use Progress reports can be accessed at any stage using the Progress Report button. Icons indicate the status of each section of the course based on the legend at the bottom. Benchmark/Mentor Student Guide

Indicates that the item or group of items has been started, but not completed. Indicates that the item or group has not been started. Indicates that this question was answered correctly. Student’s IC3Module Menu Page Module Menu Page • This is the Domain level within Key Applications. • There are 4 Objectives available beneath this level. • Click on the Objective that you want to enter to see a list of skill-sets (questions) within it. Click on the Objective Titleto move to the Skillset level Click on Key Applications – Mentorto move back up to the Module level and choose another Domain. Benchmark/Mentor Student Guide

The titles above your current level can be used to navigate back up one or more levels. The IC3 Module You are Using • This is the Objective level within Key Applications. • It contains 4 available Skill-sets. • Click Play beside a Skill-set you would like to begin. Note: You MUST click Submit on this screen in order for your answer to be scored for the question. Click Submit if you are happy with your answer. Progress Reports Progress Reports The Progress Bar gives you a quick overview of your overall progress.. • You may view a report of your progress at any time. • To view the reports, click Progress Report on the left of the screen. • The Progress Bar gives you a quick overview of your overall progress. Click Save to save the report to your computer. • The Benchmark reports give you an overview of how you are doing. • Benchmark reports are at the Domain level of the IC3 syllabus. • Return to the course by clicking Back To Training. • Reports may be saved to your computer by clicking Save. Progress Reports - Mentor Progress Reports • The Mentor reports allow for much more flexible reporting - right down to the Skill-set level. • Choose the report you wish to view from the Select a report… drop down list. • Return to the menu by clicking Back To Training.
