14. My future profession My name is Aidar and I’m 16 years old. I study at Aktau Transport College. People often ask me these days what my plans for the future are. I know that there are many interesting professions in the world, including bank managers, lawyers, doctors, policemen, designers, but I shall be a transport engineer. They say that it’s a difficult profession. I’m ready to give it a try. My specialty is organization of transportation on the railway. Students of my group understand the nature and the social significance of their future profession. After graduating, my group mates will work at JSC National Company “Kazakhstan TemirZholy”. During the practice our students will generally introduce to the company and the nature of work. They will learn the organization of the work of each department. We shall observe safety rules and regulations of labor protection. The engineers will draw up an action plan and organizing the necessary work. Students will know the rules of technical operation, alarm instructions, instructions for train movement. We shall be able to act independently in non-emergency situations. Also, we shall communicate with the train dispatcher. The technician will follow the instructions on the train dispatcher traffic control. The workers will keep transportation documentation. My father says that engineers need excellent technical knowledge, so he helps me with that. I shall have to study for 4 years to become a professional engineer. In my opinion, engineering is a great profession. It will give us lots of opportunities for development and self-growth.
