Create Users and User Groups • Creating users and user groupsis another way that you can group things and make it easier to create rules and apply rule sets with access to certain groups. You can also nest groups within groups if you would like. • To create a user Click on Users. • Right click and select New User. • Fill in the user information. • For Authentication Service select Local Password. * • You can enter all of your users here. The next few slides will show you how to move them into individual user groups. • When you have entered your users Click File>Save and Close. * Note: if you have already configured the ALSMS to use a RADIUS Server or RSA Server you can select either of those instead of local password. If you would like to configure the ALSMS to use a RADIUS or RSA Server now, you can click on the Authentication Services folder.
From the main menu click on User Groups Right click on User Groups and select New User Group. Notice that the users you have already created are filled in the column on the left. Fill in the name of the user group that you wish to create. These are usually department names or something related to the users that you will put in this group. Fill in a description. Click on the names that you want in this group and then click on the > Button to put them in the new group. Once you have added all of the users to the group that you want in this group Click File>Save and Close Repeat the steps in the previous slide to create additional user groups.
