RadTherm Analysis EcoStud Z Furring versus Steel Stud (Summer)

This study compares the thermal performance of EcoStud versus Steel Stud in wall construction using RadTherm models. Results show EcoStuds are less conductive, reducing energy requirements for maintaining indoor temperatures.

  7. Conclusion • Steel studs pull heat away from the exterior concrete wall. The heat conducts along the stud and through to the interior wall of the building. • EcoStuds are considerably less conductive and minimize the heat that is transferred from the exterior environment into the building. This results in less energy requirements to maintain a comfortable air temperature within the building. FOUO UNCLASSIFIED
