  2. AP Credit • By passing this test you will earn 6 hours college credit. • Out of pocket cost if you score less than a 3: • UTSA - $668 per hour = $4008 for 6 hours + 2 books at about $100 each • St. Mary’s - $1810 per hour = $10,860 for 6 hours + 2 books at about $100 each

  5. Multiple Choice Section • 40% of exam score • You will have 55 minutes for this section • Questions will be grouped into sets of 2 to 4 questions for each prompt • 55 questions • Of these 6 will be experimental that will not count toward your score but you will not know which these are.

  6. Short Answer Questions • 20% of exam score • 40 minutes to complete this section • 3 short answer questions • One will be experimental and will not count • Does not require a thesis statement • Concentrate on writing concise statements that include specific historic examples • Use complete sentences • Outlines or bullet points will not be accepted • Don’t forget synthesis

  7. Short Answer Questions, cont. • Question 1 (required): periods 3–8 • Question 2 (required): periods 3–8 • Students will choose between question 3, periods 1–5, and question 4, periods 6–9

  8. Long Essay Question • 40 minutes, 15% of Exam grade • You will be asked to select one of 3 questions • Option 1: periods 1–3 • Option 2: periods 4–6 • Option 3: periods 7–9 • Thesis, Detail, Conclusion is required • Don’t forget synthesis • ATFQ • Answer • The • Full • Question

  9. DBQ • Focuses on Periods 3-8, 25% of exam score • Begins with a 15 minute reading and planning period • You will then have 45 minutes to complete the essay • Essay question that requires you to interpret and analyze 7 brief documents • Essay should be broken down into these parts • Intro, thesis, doc’s, conclusion • Don’t forget synthesis
