    3. What has been the impact? On the children…. Enjoyment Health Improved rhythm and timing leading to better co-ordination Enhanced learning potential Increased hydration Improved self-esteem and confidence

    4. Your brain can’t think….. without a drink

    5. What has been the impact ? On the whole school…. Increased participation in daily physical activity Raised standards through increased motivation and improved concentration span Improved behaviour and attendance Assisted with Healthy Schools accreditation As it is an inclusive activity, it has developed a positive and co-operative whole school ethos, right through to teachers, ancillary staff, parents and even Head teachers joining in.

    6. Engaging the overweight child The activity needs to be – inclusive non-threatening achievable fun

    7. Looking for an intervention strategy? How might the ‘Wake up, Shake up’ idea, or something similar, help?

    8. Let me share a true story with you.. You may never know the impact that your efforts/intervention have had So often it is about sowing a seed, which may not flourish until some time in the future It’s about creating pleasant memories around being active

    9. Hot Tips In a school setting an overweight child.. needs to be unknowingly engaged in physical activity needs to be praised for their co-ordination and skill to divert from their lack of stamina needs to ENJOY the activity

    10. It’s about making a difference and remember…………… EVERY CHILD MATTERS
