Psalm 84 • 1 How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty! • 2 My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord;my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. • 3 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young – a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God. • 4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house;they are ever praising you. • Selah

Psalm 84 • 10 Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere;I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. • 11 For the Lord God is a sun and a shield;the Lord bestows favour and honour;no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk I blameless. • 12 O Lord Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in You.

  3. Psalm 139 (David) • 1 O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. • 2 You know when I sit and when I rise;you perceive my thoughts from afar. • 3 You discern my going out and my lying down;you are familiar with all my ways. • 4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.

Psalm 139 • 7 Where can I go from your Spirit?Where can I flee from your presence? • 8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. • 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,if I settle on the far side of the sea, • 10 even there your hand will guide me,your right hand will hold me fast. • 11 If I say “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” • 12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. Psalm 139 • 13 For you created my inmost being;you knit me together in my mother’s womb. • 14 I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;your works are wonderful, I know that full well. • 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, • 16 your eyes saw my unformed body.All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

  6. Psalm 139 • 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,too lofty for me to attain. • 17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! • 18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.When I awake I am still with you. • 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;test me and know my anxious thoughts. • 24 See if there is any offensive way in me,and lead me in the way everlasting. He’s got the whole world in His hand

Psalm 145 (David) • 1 I will exalt you my God and King;I will praise your name for ever and ever. • 2 Every day I will praise youand extol your name for ever and ever. • 3 Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;his greatness no-one can fathom. • 4 One generation will commend your acts to another;they will tell of your mighty acts.

Psalm 145 • Senior generation (60 plus) • 8 The Lord is gracious and compassionate,slow to anger and rich in love. • 9 The Lord is good to all;He has compassion on all He has made. • Middle generation (30-60) • 13 The Lord is faithful to all His promisesand loving towards all He has made. • 14 The Lord upholds all those who falland lifts up all who are bowed down.

Psalm 145 • Younger generation (under 30) • 17 The Lord is righteous in all his waysand loving to all He has made. • 18 The Lord is near to all who call on Him,to all who call on Him in truth. • 19 He fulfils the desires of those who fear Him;He hears their cry and saves them. • Everyone • 21 My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord.Let every creature praise His holy name for ever and ever. Prayer of Confession (Psalm 131) • 1 My heart is not proud, O Lord,my eyes are not haughty;I do not concern myself with great mattersor things too wonderful for me. • 2 But I have stilled and quietened my soul;like a weaned child with its mother,like a weaned child is my soul within me. • 3 O Israel, put your hope in the Lordboth now and for evermore.

Prayers of Intercession (Psalm 121) • 1 I lift up my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from? • 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. • 3 He will not let your foot slip – He who watches over you will not slumber; • 4 indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. • 5 The Lord watches over you – the Lord is your shade at your right hand; • 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. • 7 The Lord will keep you from all harm – He will watch over your life; • 8 the Lord will watch over your coming and goingboth now and for evermore.
