What is FBLA? • FBLA stands for the Future Business Leaders of America. • FBLA is a non-profit organization that prepares today’s students for success in their future careers. • Chapter throughout the world.

Projects • FBLA provides many opportunities for recognition for both individuals and chapters: • Business Achievement Awards • Go Green Project • Community Service Projects • American Enterprise Day
Competitions • For the competitive spirit, FBLA gathers students from across the nation to compete in business-related competitions • Those who qualify at the state level will advance to the national level
Competitions • Over 50 different competitive events, including: • Business Math • Public Speaking • Computer Applications • Business Law • Sports Management • Video Game & Simulation Development • Health Care Administration
Conferences • State Leadership Conference, Institute for Leaders, National Leadership Conference, and National Fall Leadership Conference: • Compete and network with members across the nation • Attend workshops by business professionals • Compete in aggressive competitions • Tour and sight see in cities across the nation

Cleveland, OH • Cost of trip: $450 • Includes one meal, transportation, registration, and one activity. • November 14th - November 16th • Your student account money will be deducted from the final payment.

Participate—Become Involved • Your opinions are important! • If you have an idea—approach an officer or teacher • Be active and good at those activities you can participate • If you are unsure what to do—ASK!!! • Activities are always optional • Review the POW (Program of Work) • Monthly list of all activities • Will be found on the website
Student Accounts • Each student has their own FBLA Account (next slide) • Accounts are used for FBLA expenses of current year • Candy fundraiser = $5 for each bag you sell goes into your personal account; you cannot transfer your candy sells to someone else or your account balance. • Krispy Kreme = $3 for each item you sell goes into your student account.
Student spending account Bank your money • Each fundraiser you may earn money to place in your SSA. Use your banked money for FBLA Expenses. • Dues • Field Trips • Over night stays • Competitions • Unused $ rolls into chapter treasury at the end of the year • Sell 6 bags of candy = FREE Membership
