Grant Number: IIS-0208741 Institution of PI: Southern Methodist University PIs: Margaret H. Dunham Title: Collaborative Research in Data in Your Space (DAYS) • Development of a new spatiotemporal modeling tool, Extensible Markov Model (EMM), which has applications in many different areas: • Spatiotemporal prediction (traffic, river, etc.) • Prediction of content for data broadcast • Web usage mining access pattern prediction • Rare event detection Design a universal wireless information dissemination system, which can be accessed from any geographical location, DAYS(DAta in Your Space). In this research we investigate many diverse techniques to solve problems associated with the realization of DAYS. • Examine each of the following areas of DAYS: • Architecture • Concurrency Control • Broadcast Management • Channel Indexing and Identification • Location Leveling • Schedule Data Broadcast • Data Modeling Detected unusual weekend traffic pattern • Support 7 Ph.D. students • Support 7 M.S. students • Several undergraduate students have worked on project. • Developed EMM model has impacts outside mobile computing Weekdays Weekend Minnesota DOT Traffic Data
