  1. The project entitled “Green Island-Ai Stratis”, is a research-demonstration project, which will implement mature technologies of Renewable Energy Sources (RES), Energy Storage and Energy-Saving. The main aim of the project is to fulfill the energy needs of Ai Stratis island at a high percentage by environmental friendly forms of energy. The innovation of the project is the high penetration, objective at 100% and not less than 85% of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) to the autonomous and weak electricity grid of Ai Stratis island. The research work and the knowledge will be achieved will cause world’s interest since until today only few applications are exist and the experience is limited. The project will be developed within the action 'Support of Political and future needs - Green Island ", Priority Axis 1, with the co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). CRES, who is the responsible organization for the implementation of the project, is planning to publish an open consultation which will be focused exclusively in the area of electricity generation from RES. The aim of the consultation is the determination of the final technical specifications and implementationmethodology of the project through the submission of proposals from the interested parties. The budget of the project concerning with the electricity production from RES is of 3.800.000€. Theinterestedparties are invited to receive the full document of the public consultation by sending an email or fax, with the attached form filled, at CRES email cres@cres.gr, or at fax number + 30 210 6603301, since 26/11/2012. At the email/fax should be indicated the purpose and the title of the project “Οpen Consultation – GREEN ISLAND”.
