How to enter Menu Setup without password for SHR-504X • Press MENU button • You can see User Login display • Press STOP → 4 → 3 → 2 → 1 → STOP buttons one by one • Then, you can enter the MENU Setup page Where is Load Factory Default item in SHR-504X MENU? Please go to MENU > System > Profile > Load Factory Default.

How to upgrade if SHR DVR is older than V2.16? • V2.16 or older : current version → v2.17 → the newest version • V2.19 or newer : current version → the newest version V2.17 is a temporal version for easy upgrading. Before we released v2.17, you have to upgrade bios, zImage and jffs files by serial cable. But it’s not easy and kind of bothersome so we improved upgrading method so that customers can easily upgrading above all 3 files by USB memory or network at one go. Can I change the file name for upgrading? Please do NOT change the file name for upgrading. Please keep it as original name, for example, “shr-5162-pkg(B3.09)(K1.55)_V2.25_0803061721.tgz”. SHR Series do not support renaming of *.tgz file.

  5. How to upgrade SHR-504X via USB thumb drive When you download SHR-504X firmware from our website, it’s a zip file. In the zip file, there are 3 folders. Please use the firmware in a folder including language you want to use. • Create folder named “update” in your USB memory • Save the firmware from a folder including the language you want to use into “update” folder • Connect USB memory to SHR-504X • Go to MENU > System > System Information & Setup • Press “Package Search” button to search a proper firmware • Press “Upgrade” button when Upgrade Version is displayed

  6. How many HDDs can be installed additionally? * By the recommend device list v3.5, up to 750GB each HDD can be installed.

  7. How to make URL with MAC address When the unit is set to use Samsung DDNS, the basic URL is as following. How many simultaneous users can be connected via network?

  8. How often does SHR Series check if the IP address has Changed and inform the DDNS service? Every 10 minutes, SHR Series is checking if the IP address is changed and inform the information to the DDNS site. But some DDNS block it because 10 minutes is too much frequent for them. So, we recommend to use Samsung DDNS. What is the maximum searching speed of SHR Series by network? From SmartViewer V2.095 and SHR-2XXX/508X/516X V2.25, Searching speed has been increased up to x64. For SHR-504X, up to x32 is available.

  9. Windows Vista is compatible with DVR? SHR-5XXX WebViewer can be connected via Macintosh, Safari or FireFox? We guarantee that SHR-5XXX webviewer works on Windows Vista/XP only. It is unfortunate that it may not work and we can not guarantee normal operation on Macintosh, Safari or FireFox.

  10. Can I use different user levels when I connect via Network? Multi-user level (User1~User5) and its different authority settings of SHR-2XXX/5XXX Series are for the DVR unit itself. These configurations are not applied to WebViewer, SmartViewer and NetI. For network access, there are only ADMIN and USER. You can configure the password for them from MENU > Network > IP Settings > Admin Password / User Password. If you logon by USER permission, you will not have the rights to control search, PTZ, … an so on.. It is regretted that it can not be applied to SHR-2XXX and SHR-5XXX Series due to its CPU performance limitation. Our next new SHR Series (SHR-7XXX/8XXX) will adopt login feature as it is saved in DVR unit. (additional local logins will be same as network logins)

  11. Some SHR-504X menu configurations are impossible to setup! With "Show device page" of NetI Setup Tool, you can setup some limited configuration of SHR-504X. Some items are impossible to set up. At the very beginning on opening the device page, all items are displayed, but some items(which is impossible to set up) turn to disabled when metadata values are transmitted completely. 1) Resource     - Camera : Brightness, Contrast, Hue are possible to set up.     - PTZ : Model, BPS, Address are impossible to set up, but only are allowed to display setup value.  2) Recording     - Record Setup : FrameRate, Quality, Resolution, EventRecordFrame(Alarm Rec Setup) are possible to set up.     - Recording Schedule: Possible to setup. 3) Event     - Motion Detection : Motion Detection Area, Sensitivity, Beep, Linked Alarm Out are possible to set up.     - Alarm In : Linked Camera, Linked Alarm Out are possible to set up. 4) Network     - Connection : IPAddress, SubnetMask, Gateway, PrimaryDNS, SecondaryDNS are only allowed to be displayed setup value.     - Stream Control : FrameRate, Resolution, Quality are possible to set up. 5) System     - Date Time : Date Time is only allowed to Display.     - Time Zone and Time Server is only allowed to display Disable condition and not possible to display setup value.

  12. AVI backup file is not playable by Windows Media Player! For playing AVI file, a proper codec is needed as following. You can use the free version. What is the maximum size SHR-504X can make a backup to external USB-HDD? In case of USB-HDD backup, HDD should be formatted by PC. If an external HDD has not been formatted as FAT32, SHR-504X can not recognize it (it is a character of linux itself..) With FAT32, supported HDD is max. 150GB. Even if you make partitions using FAT32, only one partition can be used.

  13. What the resolution of VGA monitor output of SHR Series? Is AVI backup file from SHR Series watermarked? While recording, SHR Series let watermark information included. So, AVI backup data is watermarked.

  14. Password Reset for SPR Series PC based DVR Please delete “SPR Smart Viewer.ini” file in C:\Windows folder. Then new create window will popup. You can put new password. Configuration backup for SPR Series • In Live mode, press Alt + Ctrl + Shift + F4 in order to exit SPR Smart View • Please go to C:\SPR Smart View • Copy the SETUPD • Paste it to other SPR Series machine • ※ Do not mix the files from different model • Reboot

  15. What 3rd party protocols supported by Smart Domes? Smart Dome Cameras supports 3rd party protocols as following. : Vicon, Panasonic, Philips, Pelco-P, Pelco-D, Kalatel, Erna, Diamond, VCLTP For the detail description how to set up 3rd party protocols, Please refer to “PROTOCOL Function Table (V1.5).pdf” document. Diamond and Erna protocols can NOT handle address zero. So, if you set protocol as Diamond or Erna, please set address as one or upper one. How to reset to factory default of Smart Domes Press [Preset] + [1] + [5] + [0] + [Enter] by System Keyboard or ControlX.

  16. How to reset to factory default of SSC-2000 • Power OFF • Press MENU and ENTER buttons together and power ON • Keep pressing buttons until beep sounds • After beep sounds, SSC-2000 will reset all configurations to the factory default How to make logout of SSC-2000 Press PRESET and ALARM RESET buttons together for more than 3 seconds. Then it return to the login display.

  17. What is the operating life time for TFT LCD lamp? The minimum operating life time for LCD monitor is 50,000 hours. “Wrong user ID” error while registering DVR by NetI You have to put the ID as a capital letter (ex, ADMIN or USER) Then it will work.
