Communicating within a team • First & foremost -- Be open to communication • Be direct • Own your message (“I messages”) • Focus on one thing at a time • Communicate right away (unless you need time to cool down) • Be supportive (sarcasm, judgments are usually not heard as well) • Ask for feedback (did teammate or coach hear your message correctly?)
