  2. What is a Weekly World Watch? The idea is simple. It is to look at current events and compare them to events spoken of in the Bible. . I hope to build up a picture of God’s hand working in the affairs of this world. God is bringing about a day when all nations will be gathered to Jerusalem to battle. At that time God will send His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, back to this earth. Jesus will then establish God’s kingdom on earth. This kingdom will last for ever. This is our hope and the reason we watch. The following six themes will appear repeatedly in WWW: • Israel: The continuing conflict in the Middle East and focus on Jerusalem. • Europe: Its developing union, both political and religious. • Russia: Its return to anti-Western ways as Bible prophecy’s “king of the north.” • The UK and the US: Bible prophecy’s “king of the south.” • Moral standards in decline and violence on the increase. • Increasing natural disasters: including earthquake, famine etc WWW presentations in PowerPoint can be ordered as audio/visual CDs by clicking here. It is in no way meant to be exhaustive – just a look at those events I saw as significant from a Biblical point of view. Every WWW event slide has the following format. News Photo This is straight from a news report that caught my eye because it looked significant from a Biblical perspective, usually that of prophecy. HEADLINE The source of the headline and the date are included. This is the reporter’s description of the event. It is always a direct quotation from the news report and reflects the understanding of the reporter and editors. EVENT This is my comment on why the event is interesting to a Bible student. And there shall be no more a pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn of all that are round about them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.  The pricking briers refers to the peoples that surround Israel that constantly needle them with their rockets and projectiles. They will be removed BEFORE Russia invades. Hamas & Hezbollah set up new March of Return militia on Lebanese-Israeli border Debkafile, April 18, 2019 While pretending to Israel and Egypt to be ready for a long-term truce, Hamas leaders have by no means given up on their terror campaign against Israel. Far from it. They have simply decided that the Gaza confrontation has done its work and yielded lucrative returns and were persuaded to switch fronts and move north into Lebanon. This was not Hamas’ brainchild. It came from Iran’s Middle East commander, Al Qods chief Gen. Qassem Soleimani. The Soleimani plan hinges on Hizballah raising a new Palestinian force of 3,000 recruits from the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon under the label of “The Hamas Return,” the sequel to the “March of Return” applied to the violence emanating from Gaza in the past year. These recruits would undergo a special three-month training course, at the end of which they would be given arms, including heavy artillery and short-range surface rockets, and posted in South Lebanon opposite the Israeli border. But before then, the first Palestinian recruits were to be placed in position in time for Israel’s Independence Day on May 9. EVENT About 2,500 young Palestinian men have already enlisted to the new Hamas force and are undergoing training at Hezbollah facilities in central Lebanon. Most have come from the refugee camps close to Sidon and Tyre. This new Palestinian force will open up a new Hamas front north of Israel and attacks from Gaza and Lebanon will be coordinated in a seesaw of terror against Israel. Hezbollah is behind this new force and of course Iran is behind Hezbollah. The short time of “peace” that does come, comes AFTER the pricking briers have been removed. The events of Psalm 83 and Zechariah 12 come BEFORE the short period of peace. The inner ring war could come very soon. COMMENT BIBLE QUOTE (Ezekiel 28:24)

The fortified towns of Israel will also be destroyed, and the royal power of Damascus will end.All that remains of Syria will share the fate of Israel’s departed glory   declares the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. On that day Israel’s glory will grow dim  its robust body will waste away. The whole land will look like a grainfield ‘Declare war on Lebanon, take out Syria’s S-300s’ RT, April 20, 2018 Israel has the full arsenal needed to take on Hezbollah in Lebanon and eliminate the Iranian threat in Syria, the outgoing IDF Northern Command chief boasted, warning Damascus against using S-300s to protect its sovereignty. “If our freedom of movement is threatened, we will remove the threat. We know how to do that,” General Yoel Strick told Ynet News, adding that Israel will soon introduce “advanced weapons systems” to ensure it can continue to violate neighbouring states’ airspace and to strike targets in Syria with impunity. While acknowledging that such a drastic move might damage Tel Aviv's relations with Moscow, Strick expressed hope that it wouldn’t come to that. Moscow had supplied the Arab Republic with S-300 air defence systems following the downing of a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance plane with 15 airmen on board in mid-September, during an Israeli raid. EVENT COMMENT Moscow has warned Israel that it will suppress all satellite navigation, radars and communications systems of combat planes over the Mediterranean Sea if their manoeuvres threaten Russian forces. Since then, Israel has been staging its intrusions via Lebanon, where the Jewish State is trying to keep Hezbollah in check.. But at some point we know that Israel will get drawn into a full blown conflict with Syria and Hezbollah. The IDF general quoted above also went on to say “I have no doubt what the outcome will be… It will be a decisive victory.” The Bible says Israel will be victorious in this inner ring war but at a great cost. Northern Israel will be left looking like a grainfield. A temporary peace agreement will follow this and then Russia invades. BIBLE QUOTE (Isaiah 17:3-5 NLT)

France to deploy troops and tanks on Russian border Newsweek, April 19, 2019 France will send tanks and hundreds of soldiers to Estonia to beef up NATO’s presence on the Russian border in a sign of increasing tensions between the alliance and Moscow. Some 300 soldiers, four tanks and 25 infantry fighting vehicles will be sent on April 23 to Tapa, 90 miles from the Russian border, where they will be stationed until August, according to the website of the French embassy in Estonia, as reported by Lenta.ru. The contingent, which will serve in the U.K.-led battle group under the alliance's enhanced Forward Presence posture, is comprised of a second brigade of the French army as well as career soldiers from the Foreign Legion. Meanwhile, Russia’s defence ministry announced on Friday it would upgrade its Black Sea forces to counter what it perceived as NATO aggression.   Moscow has long argued against the NATO buildup on its borders, and the relationship with NATO has all but broken down, precipitated by Russia’s annexation of Crimea and presence in the Donbass area of Ukraine, which Moscow denies. EVENT In mid-March, Mikhail Popov, deputy secretary of the Security Council of Russia, warned against the troop buildup by NATO which he said was at its highest level since the Cold War. He told the "Red Star" newspaper that “the U.S. and NATO’s anti-Russian activity resulted in the chance that ‘military dangers’ might transform into ‘military threats.” France of course is part of the West. Russia is part of the East. The division spoken of in the 2 legs of Nebuchadnezzar's image remain from the time of the division of the Roman Empire (about 300 AD) into East and West to this very day. Revelation 16 makes clear the division is still there just prior to Armageddon. The beast is Western Europe and the Dragon is Eastern Europe (Russia). COMMENT BIBLE QUOTE And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.  (Revelation 16:13-14)

Vladimir Putin claims to earn just £102,000 in year The Times, April 16, 2019 EVENT He may have friends with billions in offshore accounts but according to his latest income declaration President Putin of Russia lags far behind them, earning just over £102,000 last year. The official figure published by the Kremlin of 8,648,353 roubles is less than half the 18,728,268 the president, 66, made in 2017. Journalists claim that he uses trusted relatives and friends to look after his cash, enabling him to maintain a frugal public image. Stanislav Belkovsky, a well-connected political analyst, caused a furore in 2007 when he claimed that Mr Putin had a personal fortune of £31 billion. That claim was not substantiated but anti-corruption campaigners allege that a network of the president’s friends and relatives have disproportionately large fortunes, acting in effect as “Putin’s wallet”. COMMENT It is laughable to see Putin’s declared income – it is deceit of the highest order. He owns a watch worth 4 x his annual salary! Hermitage Capital Management CEO Bill Browder told the US Senate Judiciary Committee that he believes the Russian president is "the richest man in the world" with a net worth of $200 billion. Browder has some bona fides to back up his Russia connections; the financier's firm was once the largest portfolio investor in Russia. Many other respected financiers say the same. Putin’s deceit is described in Daniel 8:25 where we are told ”through his policy he would cause deceit to prosper.” Putin’s love of money and riches is described in Daniel 11:38 where we are told “he will lavish on him (his god) gold, silver, precious stones and expensive gifts. Putin fits the description of Gog very well indeed! he will worship the god of fortresses—a god his ancestors never knew—and lavish on him gold, silver, precious stones, and expensive gifts.  Putin does worship the idol god of money and gifts and wealth. He has even had himself built a $1 billion secret palace by the Black Sea! BIBLE QUOTE (Daniel 11:38 NLT)

Khamenei: Koran prohibits ties with Israel The Times of Israel, April 15, 2019 EVENT Normalizing relations with Israel breaks with the Koran and Islamic faith, Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Monday. The Iranian regime is avowedly committed to Israel’s destruction, and trains and arms terror groups in Lebanon and Gaza with that declared goal. Israel says it is seeking a nuclear weapons arsenal in order to annihilate the Jewish state. Speaking at the closing ceremony of a Quran competition in Tehran, Khamenei blasted “certain Islamic nations” that are not, according to him, adhering to Muslim principles. “They have become servants and followers of America and the Zionists,” he said, according to state-run news outlets. Some were “colluding with Israelis to shed the blood of Palestinians and violate their rights.” Khamenei’s comments come as Israel has seen increased behind-the-scenes cooperation with some Arab countries, particularly in tackling their shared enemy, Iran. COMMENT Amazingly the Koran itself states that God gave the land of Israel to the Jews! It reads “[5:20] Recall that Moses said to his people, "O my people, remember GOD's blessings upon you: He appointed prophets from among you, made you kings, and granted you what He never granted any other people. God Gives the Holy Land to Israel [5:21] "O my people, enter the holy land that GOD has decreed for you, and do not rebel, lest you become losers.” But Iran’s supreme leader wants Israel destroyed regardless of verses from his own religious book. This hatred of Israel by Iran in the last days was foretold by God in the Bible is several places. We know from Ezekiel 38 that Persia (Iran) joins forces with Russia to invade Israel. We know the final outcome though. The enemies of Israel will come to nothing and Israel will be victorious after Christ returns. BIBLE QUOTE Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.   10. Notre-Dame: Massive fire ravages Paris cathedral BBC, April 16, 2018 EVENT A major fire has engulfed the medieval cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris, one of France's most famous landmarks. The 850-year-old Gothic building's spire and roof have collapsed but the main structure, including the two bell towers, has been saved, officials say. Firefighters are still working to contain the blaze as teams try to salvage the artwork stored inside. President Emmanuel Macron called it a "terrible tragedy". COMMENT My daughter Aimee emailed me to ask if there was any significance of the Notre-Dame fire. This is what I wrote back… Notre Dame means “our lady” and refers to the Virgin Mary who the Catholic’s worship as the Mother of God. (If Jesus is God then Mary gave birth to God which makes her a god !) They pray to her as the queen of heaven. But actually the worship of the queen of heaven goes way back before Mary ever existed. See Jeremiah 44:19. In fact the false worship of the queen of heaven goes all the way back to Nimrod at the time of Babel. Babel was the first false state religion. They worshipped Nimrod as a god on earth. They called him Baal which means “my Lord”. He was married to Semiramis . Nimrod died in a hunting accident and later Semiramis gave birth to a child . She said this child was Nimrod reincarnated. So the people of Babel worshipped Semiramis and her god incarnate son. They called Semiramis, Baalti. Which means “my lady” or “our lady”. This is exactly what Notre Dame means. This monument in France is therefore dedicated not to the real Mary but to the original false religion that opposed God. The burning of this temple dedicated to a false god could well indicate that this false worship will soon come to an end. The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.  Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?  BIBLE QUOTE (Jeremiah 7:18-19)
