The Past: • Teletype Writer (TDD/TTY) • Electronic device for text communication via a telephone line. • Captioned Telephones • It is a telephone that displays real-time captions of the current conversation.   5. The Future: • “FaceTime” – Application software installed on the IPhone 4 Smart phone. • This technology has changed the way that deaf population learns and communicates.
