ePermits Vision Electronically process all permits in Broward County from initial application submission to final permit issuance using a unified web interface.

ePermits IT Subcommittee Mission • Define the IT architecture, infrastructure and components required to develop, integrate and support ePermits • Make Recommendations to ePermits Working Group • Respond to inquiries from the ePermits Working Group • Define ongoing support structure

Unified Web ePermit application • Requirements currently being worked on by Building Officials Subcommittee • One online application used by all Cities • Plans uploaded to one repository • City notified when an application submitted
GIS Integrationwith online web application • Applicant enters address (if there is one) • GIS map displayed with address point • Applicant has ability to move point or create a polygon • Link established between GIS point/polygon and ePermit
eSign and Seal Signing and sealing requirements set forth by boards of professional licensing: • Electronic sign and seal: • Free • Requires one page signature document (SHA-1) to be printed , manually signed and sealed by the registered professional(s) • Digital sign and seal (Digital ID): • Third Party • Microsoft Trusted Certificate • Etc.
Upload Plans and Docs • As part of the initial application submittal • Submit changes • PDF format • Maximum size 100 MB • Upload one set per discipline (rather than 1 sheet at a time)
Infrastructure • Will need a secured Infrastructure that will handle the number of users and uploading of large plans • Database (Oracle) • Storage • Servers • Network • Security • Scalable
Online Status Board • Applicant can see the status of any of their permits on the ePermits website • City permitting updates ePermits system
Support • Who will applicants call with user type questions? • Who will applicants call when they have technical issues • Can’t upload because of technical issues? • Applicant workstation issues • Disconnects • Takes a long time • Etc.
