There was a Turkish clan, which was a clan of Huns and named as Aşina, had settled in the west side of Caspian Sea. They were known as the first ancestor of Turks. They were living in a peace and comfort until one day they were suddenly attacked by their enemies. At the end of the attack, there was no people alive.
However, there was a little boy who survived the attack. Then he was seen by the enemies, but, just because of being weak, they were not afraid of child and did not mind him. Even, some of enemies felt sorry for him. Nevertheless, they thought of all possibilities and decided to leave him with cut arms and legs instead of killing him. Then they threw him to a swamp and left him there. Then, a female gray wolf appeared which came from an unknown place, she breastfed the little child and grew him up. She licked his wounds and cured him. After that day, she hunted animals and brought food to him. So, she made him better. Day by day, little child was getting stronger.
One day, the chieftain of enemies, who had destroyed the clan of Aşina, learnt that the child, whom they cut his arms and legs, had been survived. He sent his soldiers there to learn if child was really alive, if so, they’d kill him.
When the soldiers arrived, they saw a female gray wolf standing by child. Gray wolf sensed the danger. She held the child with her teeth and took him to overseas. Then they went to the Mountain of Altai and settled in a cave. They got married and had ten sons. The location of cave was green, there were fresh water, fruit trees and all kind of animals. Sons of gray wolf grew up and married there. Each of them had their own clans. One of them was called Asine. Asine was the most brave and the smartest one among them. This is why he had been the leader of Turks. He never forgot his past of ancestry. He had a gray wolf statue on the top of his tent.
After many years, another Turkish brave man had been the leader of Turks, called Asençe. During his leadership, the clan of Turks left their location and moved and settled in better places.
