2. The Victorian Volcanic Plain Bioregion: 2.3 mil ha. • Only 4.5% has remnant native vegetation cover, • 1.2% is in formal reserves • 11 species are EXTINCT • 171 species considered threatened.

3. “  A CMN is  both a physical network of conservation and remnant places across a landscape and, A social network of landowners, agencies and support/ research organisations across that same landscape and sometimes further afield. The CMN model aims to redress the poor conservation status of fragmented ecological vegetation communities (EVC’s) by providing a framework to coordinate the protection and management of remnants.”

4. Victorian Volcanic Plains Conservation Management Network As the largest Conservation Management Network in operation, the VVP CMN is supported through a strong 10 year legacy of planning and development lead by DSE. Able to network across 2.3 ha of the VVP Bioregion!

12. Trust for Nature as key partner relationship: Grassland Team Excellence in skills, community relations and expert knowledge underpins TfN’s Grassland Team. Achieving in excess of 1700ha this year alone in protected grasslands on the VVP.

13. Victorian Volcanic Plains Conservation Management Network Trust for Nature Grassland Team: • 30 years of experience • Understanding of a broad range of conservation mechanisms including MBI’s, Nett Gain brokerage, Offsets, Tenders. • PhD qualifications in Grassland ecology and management.

14. Victorian Volcanic Plains Conservation Management Network The VVP has covenanted sites already actively managed to best practice standards and Stewardship Officers with extensive knowledge for further connectivity projects.

17. Victorian Volcanic Plains Conservation Management Network We are working closely with DSE as they prepare the VVP Recovery Plan using up to date technological reporting systems through the ABC- Actions for Biodiversity Conservation database.

Victorian Volcanic Plains Conservation Management Network • TheVVP Conservation Management Network can coordinate landscape-scale programs for Landcare; With so little funding in the Landcare sector, the VVP CMN facilitation can assist in engaging Landcare groups through field days and events including pest plant and animal works on-ground in cooperation with Parks, Vicroads and Shires.

19. Victorian Volcanic Plains Conservation Management Network • TheVVP Conservation Management Network can coordinate training and community engagement for local government Training on-ground staff in identification of native flora to minimise accidental damage and to increase awareness and value.

20. Victorian Volcanic Plains Conservation Management Network The VVP CMN can assist in the delivery of ‘cross- regional programs’ With 37 local government bodies and 4 Catchment Management Authorities in the Bioregion the VVP CMN can act as a coordinating and facilitating hub.
