.175/CEDARS Juli
.175/ CEDARS Finding the Data 1. Log on to the EDS website. Choose My Applications/Core Student Records System/Submissions. 2. In the lower left-hand corner of this screen, choose the CEDARS Data Submission link - this will take you to the "test" area login screen. 3. Log into the "test" CEDARS database - you should have a separate login for this screen that must be obtained from OSPI. 4. Choose Reports from the menu options at the top of the screen. 5. Click on Submission Errors at the left of the screen.
.175/ CEDARS Finding the Data • A list of Table Names will appear. NOTE: Student Bilingual, Student Special Education, Student Program, and Student Grade History are not being reviewed at this time, thus you may ignore those errors.
.175/ CEDARS Finding the Data 7. The error logs mentioned above will contain references to Staff and Student ID numbers that you cannot identify just by looking at the error messages. To identify these Staff and Students, you will need to go back to review your "source" data files, which cannot be found on the EDS website. These "source" files are stored on your Export drive in WESPaC/Citrix. 8. On your Citrix desktop, double click on the ESD101-MF-## icon. Double click on your Export (X) drive.
.175/ CEDARS Finding the Data 9. In your export drive, look for folders with little zippers on them. The folders are named: DistrictNumber_0000_CEDARS_YearMonthDay.ZIP Right click on that file and choose Extract All from the resulting menu. An Extraction Wizard will walk you through the few steps necessary to unzip the files and will save them into a new folder that will be created in your Export drive. The name of this folder will include the date of the extract from WSIPC. 10. After clicking Finish on the Wizard, you will see 11 text files listed on your screen. Find the file that has your errors, Staff, Location, etc.
.175/ CEDARS Finding the Data 11. To open a file to review the data, right click on it and choose Open With/Choose Program from the resulting menu. Within the box that appears, choose Microsoft Excel. Locate your errors. • Errors cannot be corrected on EDS or in the source files; errors must corrected in WESPaC. WSIPC will be publishing a schedule for the next extracts in alignment with the OPSI schedule. There will be one ‘preliminary’ extract and one final for each OSPI designated date. Remember: The goal is for all of us to maintain as accurate data as possible.
.175/CEDARS TIPS Juli
.175/ CEDARS frequency for .175 Extract • As Required by OSPI • WSIPC will be publishing a schedule • As soon as OSPI establishes their schedule • There will be one preliminary extract prior to the final extract • Expect the frequencies to be adjusted
