A. Physical – Teens develop physically at different rates. Sooner or later they will all see changes taking place. Hormones-chemicals released in the body- are the catalysts of physical change. In order for you to develop properly, it is important for you to get the following: • Exercise • Nutrition • Safety • Sleep/rest • Stress-free
The same hormones that spur physical growth affect emotions. • Teens learn to adapt occasional mood swings. • Emotional ups and downs tend to diminish as adulthood is reached. Emotional Development
B. Intellectual (Mental)Development New intellectual skills allow teens to develop realistic plans. Teens should be able to: • Imagine the consequences of actions • Think about alternatives • Reflect on results of decisions • Learn from mistakes
Knowing the difference between right and wrong. Moral Development
C. Social/community • Interpersonal relationships • Community service
D. Study Skills • Organization • Time management • Listening skills • Note taking • Test taking skills
E. Workplace • Job Satisfaction • Relationships • Harassment
