  1. Geofencing and Alerts - myGeoTracking

  2. Geo-fencing & Alerts Geofencing is a term that is increasingly getting popular in the Location Based Services arena and so we decided to break it up for you! What is a Geo-fence • Geo-fence, also known as geozone, is a virtual perimeter to predefined area of interest that is marked on a map. This can be your warehouse, construction site, or even your popular customer location. The virtual boundary is then used to trigger events based on schedule, detection of a device within the boundary etc. Application of Geo-fencing: • Whenever a worker is in a geofenced area, set off automatic alerts to dispatcher, manager or interested customers • Optimize payroll calcuations by seting up automatic checkin/checkout events when a worker enters or leaves a geofenced job site. • Create Compliance reports based on how a resource (vehicle, worker) is in a geofenced property (e.g. Facility management, Distribution Centers)

  3. Traditional Geofencing • Conventional solutions available today for mobile workforce management rely either GPS, RFID or WiFi based location information from the participating device to trigger an action • Advantages: Very effective with active bread crumbing and geofencing, and they do a good job of creating fixed alerts (it depends). • Downside: • Typically require a setup which includes special devices (telematics, smartphones with apps etc) • Installation and end user participation required. • Constant Pinging impacts battery on phones. • Requites rich internet connection. • High initial Capital & Operational expense .

  4. Geo-fencing using myGeoTracking • myGeoTracking is a 100% Cloud hosted service. Requires no setup or installation. • Works on any cell phone or any device with a SIM on most major carriers in the US. • No special GPS devices required. • No apps to install, manage, train or troubleshoot. • Doesn’t requires a data plan • Rapidly scale to manage hundreds of mobile employees and hundres of Geofences (bulk provisioning) • Corelate Geofences to Customer sites. • Tie Geofencing reports to time-clocking and Compliance Reports

  5. Who can use Geofencing Geofencing has numerous business and personal applications in many day to day activities e.g. • Employee management: Verify if and when an employee has entered a work zone. Reduce payroll expenses and verify employee’s time & attendance on the job site for better billing etc. • Managing Fleet: Helps your dispatch, operation teams and/or customer with  better ETA's. • Create Exception Alerts / Reports based on business rules around job sites e.g. Job sites, drop-off facilities • Proximity Marketing: Retails businesses can send coupons,  offers and product updates to customers based on geo-targeting and geo-zones.

  6. Geofencing for Mobile Workforce Management Geo-fencing is a must-have for managing and optimizing your mobile workforce: • Easy to setup worker schedules, tracking frequency & job site geofences (on demand, at scale) • Saves time by providing alerts for pre-defined events in the field • Can be setup on demand and can be changed quickly as workforce schedule changes • Has no impact on the end-user or their phones • Improves field communication, management and optimization
