Blog I am going to discuss something which is very fundamental in nature. It is so basic in nature that most of the time we take it for granted. We don’t even think about it. Simply it is not our radar, most of the time. It is all about understanding personality. First of all, understanding self and then others. Most of the time, we think that all of us are similar in behavior as a human being. But, this is a myth. We are different by behavior and we are broadly divided into four groups. Once, we understand the basic philosophy of it, our lives at office and may be at our home could be better. There are two stages of detections. Firstly, we shall be able to understand ourselves and then secondly, we shall be able to understand the other person. Once this happen, there is every possibility that the interaction between two personalities could go in the right manner. This write-up is fundamentally psychological in nature and is based on the theory of Mr. Nigel Risner, a renowned British behavioral therapist. http://mycfo.in
To make it more hard hitting and easy to understand, I am presenting the same in a presentation format for a quick take away. I shall be most happy to receive your honest feedback. I have tried this in my own organization and it does work! Enjoy the reading! How to read this Blog For simplicity, I have divided the whole write-up into four sections. Section A talks of techniques to understand oneself. So, this is for introspection. Once, we know ourselves it is little easier to relate to others. Section B will help a CXO to quickly study others in the organization. Section C will help a CXO to understand the reason as why sometimes there is a miscommunication, mistrust or misunderstanding between two individuals or groups and solve the problem by removing the mistrust. http://mycfo.in
Section D talks of understanding four birds deeply in terms of critical actionable inputs such as fears and dislikes, expression of anger, punctuality etc. Once, a CXO understands that criticality she/he will be able to initiate corrective action for proper management. It will help a CXO to channelize the energy of a typical personality for the right work. Objective of this Blog • To understand each other better • To be positive • To be one force • To increase organizational productivity http://mycfo.in
Conclusion When studying yourself or others, please look out for DOMINANT characters. For example, you may find you are a mixture of two birds. Obviously, in billions of people it is rather tricky to divide all of us into just four groups. The moment you find a mixture of characters you might get confused. So, think deeply and quickly. Please find out your dominant character. Similar measure applies for others. This is the key thing. In my personal experience, I have found that majority of junior and midlevel software engineers belong to Pigeon where as young sales and marketing guys belong to Sparrow. Most of the functional heads belong to either Eagle or Duck. But this is my personal view and your view can differ with me. I am saying this just to set the perspective of the theme to improve its usability. Once you master this trick, the rest of the note and subsequent action plan become very easy to follow. http://mycfo.in
