Why Technology? • Astin (1984) – an institution’s policies contribute to student development. • Levine and Dean (2012) – technology is a developing area inside and outside of the classroom • Ellison, Steinfield and Lampe (2007) – students are more connected to campus and informed of campus activities • Tinto (1993) – Increased engagement and connection contributes to student success.
