  2. Inequality:A situation in which individual groups in a society do not have equal status, class, or social circle. • Examples- -Gender -Racial -Age -Caste Systems Voting Rights, Freedom of speech, property rights, education, foods/services

  3. Gender • Feminism • Work place discrimination (female) • Parenting • Childhood Boys play with trucks and action figures Girls play with dolls and house items Age • Mainly directed towards minors • Drivers license, buying alcohol/cigarettes, • Lottery, etc.

  4. Racial • Stereotypes towards specific group of people • Racism in the United States, mainly towards African-Americans. • Civil rights movements combated the inequality present in that society. • Many ideal of racism are still in effect today.

  5. Caste Systems • Prevalent in India • A process of placing people in occupational groups. • Brahmana:Consist of those engaged in scriptural education and teaching, essential for the continuation of knowledge. • Kshatriya:Take on all forms of public service, including administration, maintenance of law and order, and defense. • Vaishya:Engage in commercial activity as businessmen • Shudra:Work as semi-skilled and unskilled laborers • Classes cannot intermarry • Cannot move up or down a class • Are decided by your ancestors, born into them.
