CA Assessments Purpose • STAR • To “serve as a basis for assessing the academic achievement of individual pupils, schools, districts and the California educational system as a whole” • CAASPP • To “serve as a basis for modeling and promoting high-quality teaching and learning activities across the entire curriculum and assessing the academic achievement of pupils, schools, districts and the California educational system”

SBAC Field Test Administration Logistics • Breaks • Up to 20 minutes • Students may go back to review and change answers on questions already answered during the testing session • Longer than 20 minutes • All questions answered will be saved, but students will not be able to go back and change answers.
