  15. Underserved Children Children who: • live below the poverty line • are reading below grade level • are English language learners • live in rural areas • children who are unable to use the library, like children in daycare or those who do not have transportation.

  16. Underserved Children Libraries must: • have a community partner • plan at least two programs targeting underserved children to be held outside the library during summer reading program (June, July, and August). • Apply on-line by March 18

  18. School Partnerships • Meet with school principal and school librarian. Develop a promotion plan that describes what the school and library will each do to increase student participation, and set a participation goal. • Submit the school’s Idaho Reading Indicator scores. • Track school’s student participation in Summer Library Programs. • Plan a collaborative recognition event in the fall for students who completed the SRP. • Submit a follow-up report by September 15, 2011. • Libraries can partner with up to three schools.
