Purpose Statement The purpose of Men’s Ministries in the International Pentecostal Holiness Church is to motivate men in discovering their gifts, equipping them for ministry, and providing opportunities for service in the local church. All Men's Ministries activities shall be based on the dual objectives of winning men to Christ, and Intentionally Making Disciples.
Forming, Re-Starting or Revitalizing • Men must understand the need for having a ministry for men • Prepare for a kickoff meeting • Pastoral letter • Follow up with phone call from director/leadership team • Follow up letter/flyers for meeting • Sunday church announcement/bulletin insert
Common Pitfalls to Avoid • Ministry not Glorifying to God • Lack of Prayer • Unclear Goals • Programs versus Relationship • No Pastoral Support
Common Pitfalls to Avoid • Implementing too Much, too Fast • Lack of Balance • Not Flexible to Holy Spirit Leading • Lack of Passionate Leadership • Does not Offer a Variety of Entry Points
Subsequent Growth Subsequent growth is generated through “multiple entry points,” like special dinners with a speaker, golf outings, fishing tournaments, Super Bowl parties, construction projects, small groups, etc. If the new kickoff meeting is well planned, it will result in attendance immediately jumping. This group will continue to grow by using multiple entry points.
