AP Exams • Required to take AP Exams if you are enrolled in an AP class • Exams are in May • Last year they cost $86, amount is not posted for this year yet • If you make a 3 or higher on an AP test in science, English, or math, you will receive $100

Required courses for NCAA • 4 years of English • 3 years of math (Alg 1 or higher) • 2 yrs of natural/physical science • 1 yr of additional English, math, or science • 2 years of social science • 4 years of additional courses from any area above or foreign language

Use testing information • Establish goals for this school year • Take a college entrance exam this year • Visit college campuses • Sign up for the PSAT • Get involved with extracurricular activities
Go to college fairs • Investigate financial aid • List the college characteristics that are important to you • Look for summer opportunities • Make a resume of your accomplishments, activities, and work experience • Explore college majors
Try to narrow your list of college to five or eight by the beginning of you senior year. • Prepare a list of questions to ask on campus visits • Investigate scholarship opportunities • Volunteer for activities or clubs • Get a part-time job, apprenticeship, or internship
What about GPA? • GPA is not the only thing admission offices look at • They also look at how challenging the courses are that you are taking

Registration 2010 • Make sure your transcript is correct • Meet with Ms. Wolfe • Set up an appointment before registration to make sure you are on target for graduation • Make sure your have all of your required credits so far: • 4 of each core subject (science, math, English, history) • Required electives (discussed earlier) • 2 consecutive years of a foreign language (for Advanced Diploma)
