Training Courses • Approximately 84 courses identified • About 44 courses are for BPO and central staff. • No central user courses will have a competency assessment attached. • Remaining courses are for end users. • About half the end-user courses will be delivered via online tutorials. • Most end-user courses will have a competency assessment attached.

Training Courses (cont.) • Basic Accounting rollout began June 20 • More than 1,525 users have enrolled in the course. • 1,035 have completed the course. • 1,186 have completed the assessment. • No users have failed the assessment after three attempts. *Statistics on this page are valid as of 10-23-07

Training Courses (cont.) • The Chart of Accounts rollout began October 1 • More than 515 users have enrolled in the course. • 262 have completed the course. • 119 have completed the assessment. • No users have failed the assessment after three attempts. *Statistics on this page are valid as of 10-23-07

  6. Training Courses (cont.) • COA is a prerequisite for all other system courses. • Completion of the assessment is a prerequisite for additional training.

  7. Facilities Available • Three rooms are rented at the Continuing Education and Conference Center on St. Paul campus. • Four rooms identified in WBOB. • Several rooms made available for test centers and backup training: • Coffey Hall • Wilson Library • Academic Health Center rooms

Training Schedule • The new COA will be available October to March 2008. • Limited availability from April to June 2008. • Current CUFS and FFN courses will be scaled back gradually now to March 2008. • No CUFS and FFN courses will be available after April 2008. • CUFS budget-entry courses will be delivered 1–2 months earlier (Feb/Mar 2008). • HRMS and SPA training will have a reduced schedule from March to August 2008.

  9. Competency Overview Testing Approach • 80% passing score • Three attempts to pass the test • Two tries per question using teachable moments Testing Structure • Multiple-choice policy and process • Case studies (open- and closed-ended) to apply policy and process

  10. Competency Rollout • Assessments will be available to the user at the completion of a course. • Instructor-led classes will allow time at the end for users to take the assessment. • Instructor-led, non-computer-based classes will have computer lab sites available for users – “Test Centers.”

  11. Competency Rollout (cont.) • A training completion and an assessment “pass” score will be recorded in PS Training Admin. • Security will use the assessment “pass” score to grant system security. • Training will use the assessment “pass” score to grant access to subsequent courses.

  12. System Requirements Before participating in online training and assessments, it is critical that users: • Have the most recent version of Flash Player installed • Disable popup blockers • Have Java installed If these requirements are not followed, scoring on assessments may tally incorrectly.
