Purpose: Appendix N, Exhibit 2: MU CMS Reporting Tool Slides – Entering an Appeals provides guidance for States on reporting appeals to CMS. It contains detailed steps on navigating the reporting tool for States to follow in order to successfully report on the status and results of their provider appeals.
The Production URL is https://rnsgui.cms.gov/After logging in, click “Appeals History”.
Choose the “Appeals Request” option. Enter the required information signified by the red asterisk. * Be Sure TO ENTER ALL REQUIRED FIELDS. When finished, Click “Search”
Choose the “Appeals Recording Organization” from the drop down.
Enter any additional relevant comments and proceed by clicking “Update”.
This screen will verify that the Appeal has been properly updated and received. Choose “ Appeals Request”.
Enter the required information signified by the red asterisk. * Be Sure TO ENTER ALL REQUIRED FIELDS. When finished, Click “Search”
You will now see an Appeal listed under the EP/EH summary. Choose “Update”.
Choose from the “Appeal Status” options dropdown to update the status. Choose “update” to complete the entry.
Per the previous “Status” update, the confirmation message will display the updated status. You have now completed entering an appeal.
