Ontology based Algorithms for Indexing and Search of semantically close Natural Language PhrasesSrikanth KamathNITK Surathkal • Intelligent Search that incorporates commonsense when matching phrases • Target datasets - Short 1-line descriptions, which are common in small online communities that use forums/mailing lists for barter and other purposes • When used on these datasets, our algorithms will point non trivial matches such as “Used Furniture” and “Old couch, antique table for sale” • Given their background knowledge and experience, these matches are trivial when performed by humans , we provide WordNet powered algorithms to achieve a level of smartness comparable to humans.
